The Fortune Flyers were thrilled to run 26 miles for justice, raising money and awareness for The Fortune Society at the 2022 TCS New York City Marathon on Sunday, November 6, 2022.
This dedicated team of runners, known as The Fortune Flyers, took on the challenge not just for the thrill of the race, but for a powerful cause—supporting The Fortune Society. The organization is committed to helping individuals who have been involved with the justice system rebuild their lives and reintegrate into society after incarceration.
By participating in this iconic marathon, The Fortune Flyers successfully highlighted the critical work being done by The Fortune Society. Their efforts raised funds directly benefiting essential programs that offer housing, employment services, mental health support, and more—providing formerly incarcerated people with the tools they need to thrive and contribute positively to their communities.
Running 26.2 miles was no small feat, but for The Fortune Flyers, every mile represented a step forward in the fight for social justice and the betterment of countless lives. Their participation in the marathon was not just about crossing the finish line; it was about making a lasting impact on the lives of those who need it most.
The Fortune Flyers' race day efforts were supported by a community of backers who cheered them on, spread the word, and contributed to the cause. Together, they ran to create a future where everyone has the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their past.
